Rasmus Hojlund is in a battle against time to be fit for Manchester United’s crucial Champions League away encounter against Galatasaray in just over two weeks, while Christian Eriksen has been sidelined for over a month.

Due to injury, Eriksen had to be substituted just before halftime due to a knee ailment, while Hojlund had to be replaced in the 78th minute of United’s 1-0 victory over Luton on Saturday. These players were forced to miss practice on Monday.

Hojlund is probably going to miss United’s first game following the international break, which is their Sunday week trip to Everton.

Prior to the August 29 trip to Istanbul to play Galatasaray, United expressed optimism that the Denmark striker would return “before the end of the month.” However, manager Erik ten Hag will now be anxious about the availability of his top scorer.

United has dropped three of its first four Group A games and would be eliminated from the Champions League if they are defeated by the Turkish champions.
